A’s Spicy Black Bean Burger
My delicious homemade Vegan CHEAT MEAL! I had the works…
Avocado, Sriracha sauce, Roma tomato, 1 slice gouda and the bun
Make the burger your own. Don’t like the option below add your own seasoning to fit your taste buds.
For the Burger:
16 oz.(2) can black beans , rinsed and drained
1/2 small onion, chopped
½ c Portabella mushrooms, sliced
1 Tbsp. garlic , Minced or 2 clover
½ Jalapeno, chopped
1 egg , beaten
1 Tbsp. Coconut flour
2/3 cup Steel Oats oatmeal (I used Steel oats Maple & Brown Sugar w/Flaxseeds)- optional
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
¼ teaspoon black peppercorn
Place rinsed and drained black beans in a bowl. Drain well to remove any extra moisture. Place in a large bowl and mash well with a fork or food process(leave a little lumpy) (Remove as much moisture as you can–if it’s too wet, the burger won’t hold together as well.)
Heat olive oil or coconut over medium heat in a medium skillet. Add mushrooms, onions, rosemary and salt. Cook until fork tender, about 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in black peppercorn and rosemary, if using.
Add sauté vegetable, add chopped Jalapeno, to the bowl with the black beans. Add the chili powder, cumin and stir to combine.
Add beaten egg and mix. Stir in Steel oats and coconut flour. Form mixture into 6 or 8 patties.
Your choice to:
Grill the burgers on a welled oiled grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
Bake them at 375° degrees on a lightly oiled baking sheet, for 10 minutes on each side – or –
Cook them on your stove using a grill pan, for 5-6 minutes on each side.
**Heat your Sprout bun and top with Sriracha
Store some for later. (Refrigerate) #yummie

Sriracha Sauce Recipe ( Make the sauce first then store in the refrig. until patties are done))

Makes 1 ½ cups
A delicious sweet spicy and savory Sriracha Sauce.(packed with healthy fats) Good for a delicious dip or sauce that is good on almost anything.
1 eggs (at room temperature)
1 Tsp. apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup Plain Fat Free Greek Yogurt
2 Tbsp. Spicy Pickle chips, chopped (optional)
1 ½ Tbsp. dijon mustard
½ tsp. cracked black pepper
½ tsp. garlic powder
¼ cup oil (avocado oil or pure olive oil)
¼ cup organic Sriracha
Mix it up!
Whisk all ingredients together in a small bowl.
